Chickadee Family Child Care is a New York State licensed group family child care that follows the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake school district schedule. It's a small, playful family daycare in a casual, country setting in Charlton, NY. Chickadee is run by loving, attentive caregivers, mother and daughter team, Dee and Amanda Lawrence. At Chickadee, your child will receive the one-on-one attention they need and deserve.

At Chickadee Family Child Care we play outside whenever the weather permits. We have a beautiful shaded fenced-in yard for safe fun play with a wooden swing set and lots of activities. We have added on a beautiful, sunny playroom and are now offering Mother Goose Preschool Curriculum for ages 2 and up! We are always learning, doing art projects, chasing bugs socializing and more! NEW: we now use the brightwheel app and you will receive updates on your child’s day, pictures of their activities and more!

We are always striving to keep the children active both physically and mentally!

Eat Well

We are happy to participate in the NYS child and adult food program which recommends healthy nutritional choices.

• Increase low-fat and fat-free dairy foods for children over age of 2.

• Offer low fat 1% or non fat (skim) milk select reduced-fat or part skim cheeses

• We like to include vegetables and fruits for snacks and think it's important to have with each meal

Play Hard

Being part of the NYS child and adult food program also encourages children to:

• Increase their physical activity.

• Encourage children to play actively daily.
  

• Turn off the tv, video tapes, dvds and games.
  

• Play and be physically active with children

• And always have fun!
